At the time of the sale I was working in new equipment sales for Toromont Cat, and was tasked by our client to demo and sell a Tele-dipper for a job they had contracted in Old Montreal, Quebec.
The client was operating 3 excavators in unison to excavate a foundation at an average depth of 30M. This set up was very laborious and time consuming. Needless to say that replacing 3 machines and 3 operators with one was not only a great concept, but also a potential cost saving. The proposition we made required us to install the 30 meter dipper to a Cat 336 Next Gen Excavator – we also added a supplementary counterweight and went to work.
The excavator and dipper combination were an instant success and the machine spent the next 3 months shoveling at full depth.

The machine, installation, and functionality were new to us and our close cooperation helped us provide a successful solution to our client here in Montreal.

Shotcrete Services Ltd, where I am Technical Director, have had the opportunity to operate a Liebherr R944C Tunneling excavator supplied by First Square Equipment.
This machine was hired to a multinational Joint Venture contractor and was engaged in working on a major tunneling project in London in early 2020. The machine was operated by our tunnel operators and was on standby or working 24/7 for two months.
The machine was well presented and prepared, fully functional and was delivered to the client’s specification. The 944 operated efficiently and reliably for the period of hire whilst working.
Overall the machine, communication service provided by First Square Equipment was excellent, we will be using there services on any future tunneling projects we are involved with and I would recommend their services based on my experience.
